A simple drawstring bag
These simple drawstring bags are a novel way to wrap small gifts. They are also a great way to use up your fabric remnants.
You will need two rectangles of cloth: 25cm x 20cm and 2.5mts of ribbon or cord.
Cut 2 shapes as shown and snip a notch 5cm from the top on either side. With right sides of the fabric together stitch from notch to notch as shown (1a). Turn back the top edge by 0.5cm and press. Fold back again by a further 2cm and stitch down (1b). Turn the bag the right way out.
Take two lengths of ribbon or cord, 75cm long. Thread one cord from the left hand side, all the way round and knot the ends (1c). Repeat with the other cord from the right hand side (1d). Pull both knotted ends at the same time to close your bag (1e).
