Adding a contrast tie and cuffs
If you want a sharper edge to a Tie Front Blouse try a contrasting fabric for the tie and cuffs.
Here white cotton is trimmed with contrasting black shirting fabric. The effect is sharply graphic.
The narrow tie from The Tie Front Blouse pattern was used and has been tied as one would a school or man’s tie.
A different look is achieve if the tie is tied as a bow. Then the effect is neat but pretty.
If pretty is more your thing, try a floral pattern for the body of the blouse and trim with a coordinating solid colour for the tie and cuffs.
When putting two sharply contrasting fabrics together, remember to prewash your fabrics and check for any colour run before stitching together.
