The bomber jacket is everywhere right now; in the press, on the street...... so here are two variations that I hope you’ll find inspiring.
The first is in a wool crepe version made in a longer length.
A young girl trying on the Sport-Luxe Bomber sample at the recent Knit and Stitch Show in Edinburgh inspired me. The size 12, neoprene version, was slightly oversized on her small frame but looked really cool.
I’ve taken the original sewing pattern and simply lengthened the lower body by 10cm all round.
The second version is definitely Luxe!
I spotted the most gorgeous silk satin and silk georgette in the same small print design at Till The Sun Goes Down and thought I would mix the two together. I’ve cut the front in the satin and the back in the georgette.
Georgette is always tricky to sew and mixing it with a fabric that’s twice the weight took some care.
But I love the outcome…….
