The Lounge Shirt sewing pattern review
The Lounge Shirt - Jan, UK

I was really excited to see the new Lounge shirt pattern in the Autumn magazine as I love oversized comfy clothing. The clean lines and the way the sides of the shirt drape was appealing and I knew I had to make in a fabric with good drape. I used a lightweight Atelier Brunette viscose in blue. The pattern only has 7 pieces and I decided to omit the front pockets.
Sewing was really straightforward and it went together much easier than I expected.  Personally I think it doesn’t need side slits  it so wide so I ignored but did add 6cm to the length. The collar sits well and is really neat which I think is important in oversized clothing. Make sure you adjust the sleeve length to suit before cutting out.
I am really looking forward to making lots of these and trying out in different fabrics this winter with vest tops or Tee shirt underneath.
A real winner for me. A couple of things you need to figure out like a small pleat on the sleeve and if you want side slits then you need to stitch the side seams 5cm above the 6cm hem notch mark

I was so inspired with the lounge shirt in the magazine I just had to make it up in green tencel as the photo showed. This time I did do the pockets and side vents but altered the sleeve length and circumference but lengthened the placket doing away with the cuff. Looking forward to making in linen next summer but meanwhile think I will have a go at the lounge pant. Thank you for doing larger sizes too.
