Attaching the facing to The Holiday Shirt and Top

Attaching the facing for the Holiday Shirt and Top is tricky so here we’ve mocked up that section, without the collar. Use these images in conjunction with the pattern's illustrated instructions.

1 - make sure the stitching on the facing and front finish exactly in line with the notch.

2 - press open only the seam allowance below the notch, where you have stitched.

3 - place the facing over the front - right sides of the fabric together. Line up the stitching lines - pin to secure

4 - pin the facing to the front from the shoulder down to the V by the notch on both sides. Stitch in place making sure the stitch at the V is exactly in line with the centre front stitching.

5 - turn the facing through and press. If the seam allowances are bulky, trim them back without cutting the stitching.

6 - stitch down the centre front to secure.
