The Maker's Top

Over the last couple of years, I’ve been receiving requests for ‘a gardening top’, ‘a potter’s top’, ‘an art class top’, ‘a walking the dog top’……..The Maker’s Top is the result.

This all purpose casual top is designed for anyone who makes or creates. An easy-to-make and easy-to-wear style to throw on when you want to concentrate on what you love doing most.

It’s a pull-on, drop shoulder style in two lengths with optional front pockets. There are no darts, zips, or fastenings so this style is suitable for beginners. The sleeves with their deep cuff are cut straight, making shortening or lengthening straightforward. The hem also has a cuff with a side split detail.

This style suits a variety of light to medium weight woven fabrics. Here are examples in cotton. But linen, denim and chambray would have a similar look. For a more fluid top try Tencel or viscose and in the cooler months babycord or moleskin would look great.
