The Maker’s Atelier Sports Coat. I love this pattern! Great directions and easy to make. All the pattern pieces fit well together and the instructions and fabric recommendations are spot on. I made 3 of these this weekend (2 rust coloured & a grey version). I had intended to make this as a gift for my MIL out of this fabulous rust/terracotta heavyweight virgin wool. I loved the fabric so much I wanted one for myself. I squeezed 2 coats out of 3.1m of fabric. I ran out of fabric on my coat for the pockets and also had to cut the sleeves off grain. The coat requires no interfacing. The pattern includes good directions on topstitching. In order to get the inside of the collar to look neat, I had to hand stitch it in place. It’s not a lot of hand stitching thankfully, and it was worth it for hanger appeal. I think it’s a unique pattern that is incredibly satisfying to sew. It will work well with many different weights of fabric. It is one of the nicest patterns I have made recently. It’s a little pricey, but I think it’s worth it. @thesewingdolan
Fabric and Trim Suggestions
Light to medium weight woven coating fabrics.
For the Collar and cuffs kitted rib or medium weight jersey fabric with some Lycra or elastomeric content.

Our digital patterns are immediately downloadable with PDF files for AT HOME printing on A4 or US paper sizes and COPY SHOP printing on A0 sheets. Read more in this Journal post.
