My final (for now) and fourth @themakersatelier #theflaredshirt I sized up and yes, I look a bit large in the pics (even before the Sunday dinner!) but it’s my favourite! 💚🤍 I like a bit of room to manoeuvre when it’s warmer! I love the sleeved version - I shortened the length and deepened the cuff. I lengthened the body and have a deeper hem. Obviously I messed around with the stripes.
This pattern will definitely feature for some autumn makes. I have yet to perfect the v neck on this but I’ve already had so much wear from the sleeveless versions I’ve made that I’m persevering. I bought this lovely lightweight linen from Goldhawk Road at the same time as the Olive Green linen I used for the @libertyfabrics #libertyflorencepalazzopants I could say I had a plan but that would be a massive fib! It’s happenchance!

So hard to capture this fabric in all its beauty with the poor light. I knew what I wanted to make once I’d seen this My Dress Made striped cotton from @thefabricobsession 😍. The Flared Shirt from @themakersatelier came to mind straight away. Due to the fabric being directional it took a bit of pattern Tetris to get everything to sit in the right place, especially as I wanted to pattern match the front seam. The best pattern matching I’ve ever done 😊. Slight error on the front facings with the stripes going horizontal as I didn’t realise which way they sat.
…
Straight size 12 made with no adjustments as I didn’t have enough fabric. Only thing I would do next time is extend the sleeves. The armscye could maybe be a bit bigger for me.
