I’ve finally succumbed to a new leisurewear wardrobe for life in continued lockdown. These wide-legged jersey trousers are just the most comfortable thing to wear - so much so that I’ve now made three pairs. The heavyweight stretch jersey from Rosenbergs makes this the perfect pairing in my opinion, and comes in navy, black and red. The red pair was the last to be made and I was in two minds about these as it is a very vibrant red. However with the addition of the jaunty side stripe these have become my absolute faves. The fabric is lovely to work with, keeps its shape and launders well. The Maker’s Atelier Holiday Top completes this collection. Made in the same fabric - the slight shade difference is due to me buying the yardage several years apart - it makes a cosy, coordinating top which pairs with all colours. I am so pleased with this pattern. I bought the fabric from Rosenberg and it is a printed flannel - warm but still fluid. I had a problem learning how to do the fly front, but after 3 goes at it I got it right. It is perfect now and very comfortable. For the first time I feel I produced a pair of trousers as good as I could buy. And of course using a quality fabric made the effort more worthwhile. I will definitely make these again.
